Softball’s Tilt with Texas Southern Moved to Wednesday Due to Weather

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The SFA softball team's second home game of its 2019 slate will have to be put on hold for 24 hours due to forecasted heavy rainfall and possible thunderstorms in Nacogdoches Tuesday afternoon. The Ladyjacks (8-3) will now host Texas Southern at the SFA Softball Field Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m.
The Lady Tigers (0-3) were set to visit Texas' oldest town Tuesday, Feb. 19 but both head coaches agreed to push back the game a day with a forecasted 100 percent chance of rain Tuesday and a 90 percent chance of rain at 3 p.m.
SFA just wrapped up a three-day, five-game tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana, where the Ladyjacks posted a 3-2 record and reached the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's 33rd Annual Louisiana Classic title game. Reaching its second-straight tournament championship game in as many weekends, SFA defeated Austin Peay (5-1) and took two games from Jackson State.
With eight victories in 11 games this season, the Ladyjacks' only losses have come against nationally-ranked opponents. SFA has already earned a top-25 win this season, defeating then 24th-ranked Mississippi State 1-0 over opening weekend to capture the 2019 Bulldog Kickoff Classic championship.

The Ladyjacks will hit the road once again this weekend, taking on their third tournament of the season by participating in South Alabama's Mardi Gras Invitational, held Friday-Sunday, Feb. 22-24 in Mobile, Alabama. SFA will see host South Alabama twice, in addition to the Big Ten Conference's Illinois and Hofstra.
