Termini Nets Fourth Goal of the Season in Southland Conference Bout in Beaumont
10/4/2019 11:09:00 PM | Women's Soccer
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Junior Katelyn Termini notched her team-high fourth goal of the season in Friday's league match at Lamar, but the 'Jacks weren't able to secure any points in the matchup, falling 3-1. The game got off to a late start due to inclement weather in the area, which forced a lightning delay. SFA moves to 4-7 (1-3 SLC) on the season with the result.
OF NOTE
• Termini's goal was her fourth of the season, moving her into sole possession of the team lead in both goals (4) and points (11).
• SFA moves on to face McNeese in the second half of the road trip on Sunday. The Cowgirls and Ladyjacks will kick off at 1:00 p.m.
COACH CRITTENDEN'S THOUGHTS
On his team's overall performance in the contest:
"With out question, they had two players separate themselves on the field, so credit to them. From a team character standpoint, from a game-planning standpoint, it wasn't a question of effort, it was just a question of collective effort. The quality that one team was prepared to impose on the other was the difference tonight, and we weren't prepared to match that intensity and quality tonight. So we've got to process that and prepare for a game against McNeese on Sunday."
On the message moving ahead to Sunday's match:
"The message moving forward to Sunday is that our effort, attitude and focus has to be strong. When we represent ourselves to the standards we preach, it can be a tough game. That's the biggest message moving forward, understanding that this is just one game, and that we make adjustments to the way we represent ourselves."
