
Thrilling Relay Finish Among Second Day Highlights at Texas Relays

Day Two Results
AUSTIN, Texas – With one lap to go and two runners ahead of him in the third heat of the men's 4x400 relay, Tedrick Hawkins did what he does best, turning in a superlative anchor leg to give SFA its first heat victory of the Texas Relays. The 4x400 team of Kerry Gleason, Drake Murphy, Payton Davis and Hawkins would place 11th out of 38 relay teams in the event with a time of 3:10.95 after Hawkins passed both opposing relay teams ahead of the Lumberjacks.
The men's 4x100 relay team of Aaron Piper, Jared Love, Tedrick Hawkins and Khalil Lacy came into the meet on the heels of a program record setting performance last weekend at UTSA, and would finish 15th out of 41 teams in the event on Friday with a time of 40.49. In the distance medley relay, the Ladyjacks relay team of Kelsey Ramirez, Madison Compass, LaSean Davis and Christina Hernandez placed eighth with a time of 12:02.18, while the men's group of Titus Kiplagat, Charles Fentress, Quinlin McGregor and Pedro Flores came in 11th with a time of 10:03.71.
Trenton Bridges opened competition for SFA in the morning in the discus, reaching a mark of 48.40m (158-9).
Jillian Turner raced to a mark of 14.79 in the 100m hurdles on the women's side, while Kerry Gleason took 29th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.42. In the 100m dash, Meghan Bell ran to a time of 11.99, while teammate Aaliyah Teel came in at 12.08. On the men's side, Aaron Piper ran a 10.37 in the 100m dash, while Jared Love finished ay 10.63.
The meet will resume and wrap up with a full day of competition tomorrow, beginning at 10 a.m with the women's discus.
