Softball’s Opening Weekend Altered Due to Weather

Ladyjacks’ 2018 opener moved up a day, opening weekend schedule include four games to be played Thursday and Saturday
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – With heavy rainfall in the forecast for the Monroe, Louisiana, area, Stephen F. Austin softball's opening weekend schedule of play at Louisiana-Monroe's Mardi Gras Classic has been altered. The Ladyjacks will now take on Grambling State, UT Martin and tournament host ULM Thursday, Feb. 8 and Friday, Feb. 9 and will no longer play UT Chattanooga or Prairie View A&M.
SFA is slated to take on the Lady Tigers at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 before facing UT Martin at 12 p.m. Thursday. On Friday, Feb. 9, the Layjacks will play a true road doubleheader when they match up against ULM at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Before the opening weekend changes, SFA was set to play UT Martin the morning of Friday, Feb. 9 as its first game of the 2018 season. The Ladyjacks were then going to take on UT Chattanooga later in the morning before facing Grambling State and ULM Saturday, and Prairie View A&M Sunday.
