Softball’s Weekend Schedule and Travel Altered Due to Rain

Ladyjacks to now head to Conway, Arkansas, for the 2018 UCA Softball Invitational and will play four games against Kansas, Coppin State, Louisiana-Monroe and South Dakota State
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin softball team will no longer be traveling to Oxford, Mississippi, for Ole Miss' Red & Blue Classic this weekend, instead the Ladyjacks (6-4) are headed to Conway, Arkansas, for Central Arkansas' 2018 UCA Softball Invitational. The 2018 Red & Blue Classic was canceled due to heavy rain forecasted in the Oxford area for the duration of this weekend.
SFA is set to play four games against four separate opponents across the following four days, Friday-Sunday, Feb. 23-25, at the UCA Softball Invitational. Originally scheduled to play North Dakota State, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, 16th-ranked Ole Miss and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville this weekend in Oxford, Mississippi, the Ladyjacks will now take on Kansas, Coppin State, Louisiana-Monroe and South Dakota State in Conway, Arkansas.
Friday's schedule of play will see SFA face Kansas and Coppin State before the Ladyjacks battle ULM Saturday, Feb. 24 and South Dakota State Sunday, Feb. 25. Both game times for SFA's contests on Friday, Feb. 23 will be announced later tonight as the Ladyjacks' game against ULM on Saturday, Feb. 24 will be played at 9 a.m. at UCA's Farris Field. First pitch for SFA's tilt versus South Dakota State on Sunday, Feb. 25 is slated for 8 a.m. at Fieldhouse Field, located a few miles off-campus from UCA. Friday's two games will both be played at Farris Field.
With strong chances of rain and thunderstorms in the Conway area for both Friday and Saturday, there may be even further changes to this weekend's UCA Softball Invitational. Any schedule changes will be announced via SFA softball's social media accounts, Twitter (@SFA_Softball) and Facebook (SFA Softball), and on the softball schedule page of SFAJacks.com.
