BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The journey that began back in December will finally reach its apex this week, when the Stephen F. Austin track and field team competes at the 2018 Southland Conference Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. The two-day event will feature competition on both Wednesday and Thursday, and is the culmination of a slew of preparatory meets and invites leading up to the conference meet.

The 28-man rosters for SFA are set for both the men and the women's side after wrapping up competition at the team's final tune-up of the indoor season on February 9 at the Howie Ryan Invitational. Buoyed by a slew of strong individual performances at the meet, where 44 individuals placed within the top eight in their respective events, the 'Jacks can feel confident heading into the indoor championships.

Additionally, SFA has athletes ranked inside the top eight on the tfrrs.org indoor performance list for 22 of the 34 lists, counting both men's and women's marks.

Action begins on Wednesday with men's and women's multi-events starting at 8:30 a.m. while field event finals run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Running event finals and trials will run from noon until 7 p.m.

On Thursday, multi-events will begin again at 8:30 a.m. to start the day while the last field event finals will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The last running finals of the event will start at noon with the final race running at 4:05 p.m.

Awards will be presented after the conclusion of each event's final.
