Six Ladyjacks to begin play in five-day regional tournament Thursday

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Following a break of nearly three weeks, the SFA tennis team returns to action Thursday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M for the ITA Texas Regionals.
The five-day tournament wraps up on Monday with action scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. each day. SFA joins other NCAA Division I Texas institutions Abilene Christian, Baylor, Houston, Incarnate Word, Lamar, North Texas, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas, UT Arlington, UTSA, Texas State, Texas Tech and UTRGV at the event.
Senior Kaja Ljubic, juniors Armelle Cerdan, Gabi Guilarte and Darinka Tiboldi, sophomore Vera Carvalho and redshirt freshman Kyndall Misak will all be taking part in the regional tournament.
The top doubles team and the singles finalists earn an automatic invitation to the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Surprise, Arizona. The tournament, held from Nov. 7-11, features the champions from each of the 12 regions around the country, as well as several at-large bids.
Below is a complete list of SFA's opening round draws in both singles and doubles action. All of the matches will begin on Thursday with doubles action leading off play each day.
