
Ladyjacks Knock Off ACU 3-1

ABILENE, Texas – Freshman Kaitlyn Granger recorded the first double-double of her career and the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team won 3-1 in the program’s first-ever meeting with Abilene Christian Saturday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.
Granger recorded 14 digs and 10 kills for SFA (14-13, 6-8) across four sets. The native of Arlington, Texas, was one of three players to finish in double-figure kills. The outside hitter was joined by sophomore Tori Bates and Justice Walker, who recorded 14 and 10 kills verse the Wildcats (6-15, 2-11 SLC), respectively.
Junior Paige Holland finished with 40 assists, while defensively sophomore OJ Olson recorded 21 digs.
Sophomore Jacque Allen recorded four blocks, as SFA recorded five as a team.
The Ladyjacks got four kills from Walker and went on a 4-1 run to take a close opening set. The set drew even at 10 different points and saw four lead changes en route to a 1-0 advantage for the SFA.
After ACU limited the Ladyjacks in the second to even the match 1-1 at the break, SFA won the next two sets to close out the victory in four sets. Bates recorded 11 of her 14 kills in the two sets, as SFA hit a match-high .324 in the third set and .275 in the fourth set.
The Ladyjacks will next travel to Southeastern Louisiana for a 7:00 p.m. match Thursday, Nov. 7.
