Ladyjacks Set For Season Finale

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team will wrap up its 2011 campaign this weekend with a three-game series against Nicholls. The set against the Colonels will start with a Saturday doubleheader at SFA Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Ladyjacks come into the weekend with a 13-34 overall record and an 8-19 mark in Southland play. Nicholls is 13-36 for the year and 5-21 in league action. Neither team can qualify for the Southland Conference Tournament.
SFA is coming off a 1-2 showing against Central Arkansas last weekend. The Ladyjacks won the opener, 5-4, then dropped the next two games. Nicholls is 4-3 over its last seven contests after winning one of three games against Northwestern State last weekend.
The Ladyjacks are batting .205 as a team behind senior Lauren Luetge's .279 average. Classmate Monika Covington leads the pitching rotation with her 2.76 ERA. Both seniors will be recognized in a brief ceremony prior to Sunday's series finale. The game is scheduled to start at noon.
