NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team will look to continue its early momentum in Southland Conference play this weekend with a three-game home series against Northwestern State. The series begins with a doubleheader Saturday, scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
The Ladyjacks are 5-1 in league play and tied at the top of the Southland standings. SFA is 11-7 overall and has won eight of its last nine games, including a doubleheader sweep of Houston Baptist earlier this week.
SFA bats .255 as a team, led by senior Briana Bishop's .385 average. Bishop has a team-leading five home runs, which puts her second in the Southland. Her .731 slugging percentage is also second in the league.

Northwestern State comes into the weekend with a 10-9 overall record. The Lady Demons are 0-3 in league play. Northwestern is 5-0 in home games, but just 1-7 so far in road contests. The Lady Demons have lost seven of their last nine contests and are coming off a 3-1 loss at Centenary on Wednesday.
