
SFA Softball Hosts North Texas

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack softball team will once again step out of Southland Conference play to host the North Texas Mean Green in a Wednesday afternoon doubleheader at Hoya Field beginning at 3 p.m. It will mark the first of an eight-game home stand to round off the 2006 season.
The Ladyjacks had a tough weekend after being swept by Louisiana-Monroe and dropping their overall record to 15-25 and their SLC record to 5-13.
Senior Carrie Woydziak is leading SFA with a .351 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 14 stolen bases. She's also leading the lineup with 29 runs scored on 47 hits.
From the pitcher's circle, senior Traci Moore has already won a career-high seven games this season to go along with her staff-leading 2.93 ERA. She has struck out 34 in 74.1 innings pitched.
The Mean Green is 17-26 so far this season and their offense is being led by Susan Waters who has posted a .348 batting average. Kristina Fowler is leading UNT's pitching staff with a 4.13 ERA and a 14-13 record.
After the matchup against North Texas, SFA will host Texas-Arlington in a three-game series Saturday and Sunday.
