
Railey Leads SFA to Semifinals

SAN ANTONIO - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks, the No. 1 seed in the Southland Conference championship tournament, defeated the No. 8 Northwestern State Lady Demons, 3-0, Friday afternoon from the Convocation Center on the Texas-San Antonio campus.
SFA took a 30-22 Game 1 victory, the most points it would allow the Lady Demons to score. The Ladyjacks then sailed to a 30-19 victory before shutting down Northwestern State 30-15.
Sophomore Lauren Railey led both sides of the net as the only player to knock down double-digit kills, with 15. She also had nine digs and five total blocks in the match.
Junior JJ Jones notched a double-double with 36 assists and 15 digs. Senior Stephanie Figgers collected 23 digs and freshman Briana Taylor reached a new career high with nine total blocks.
The victory advances the Ladyjacks to the SLC championship tournament semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Texas-San Antonio/Texas State match Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Convocation Center in San Antonio.
