
SFA Netters Drop 4-3 Decision to Lady Demons

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Northwestern State, 4-3, Sunday afternoon at the SFA Tennis Courts. The Ladyjacks are now 5-12 (.294) overall and 0-7 in Southland Conference play as SFA dropped its fourth consecutive, and eighth overall, one-point decision of the season.
For the second-straight day, the Ladyjacks came out and took a 1-0 lead winning the doubles point. Senior Robin Houston and sophomore Laura Harrison recorded an 8-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, while the duo of senior Ashley Johnson and junior Megan Langston followed with an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Harrison also defeated the Lady Demons' Fernanda Silva, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1, at No. 2 singles, while Scott added a victory over Northwestern State's Camila Prado, 6-3, 6-3, at the No. 6 position. But Northwestern State won the four remaining singles matches for the victory.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday when they travel to Thibodaux, La., to take on Nicholls State. The match against the Lady Colonels is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
