THIBODAUX, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis picked a Southland Conference victory Saturday afternoon by dominating Nicholls State, 7-0. The Ladyjacks are now 6-12 (.333) overall and 1-7 (.125) in league action.
The Ladyjacks took the first two doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead and were never really contested after that. Sophomore Laura Harrison defeated the Lady Colonels' Dorian Robichaux, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles to increase the Ladyjacks lead to 2-0.
SFA rattled off victories in the final four singles matches as senior Ashley Johnson, sophomore Lauren Nowicki, junior Kama Scott and senior Melissa Bass all picked up singles victory.
The Ladyjacks return to action Sunday when the travel to Hammond, La., to take on Southeastern Louisiana. The match against the Lady Lions is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
