NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Lamar, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the SFA Tennis Complex. The Ladyjacks are now 3-6 (.333) on the season and 0-2 in the Southland Conference.
Lamar took the victory at No. 1 doubles, but the Ladyjacks duo of junior Megan Langston and senior Ashley Johnson picked up an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles. The point would be decided at No. 3 doubles, where SFA held a 6-1 advantage in the tie-break before Lamar battled back to win the match and go up 1-0.
The Ladyjacks got victories out of Johnson at No. 4 singles and junior Kama Scott at No. 6 singles but it wouldn't be enough as the Lady Cardinals won four singles matches on the afternoon.
The Ladyjacks will look to get back on the winning track Friday when it hosts Texas-Arlington. The match against the Lady Mavs is slated to begin at 2 p.m., from the SFA Tennis Courts.
