
SFA Tennis Drops Doubleheader

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team dropped two matches Saturday afternoon, falling to Abilene Christian, 6-1, and North Central Texas College, 4-3, at the SFA Tennis Courts. The Ladyjacks are now 2-4 (.333) on the season.
The Ladyjacks were dominant in doubles play winning the doubles point in both matches, as the duo of sophomores Laura Harrison and Lauren Nowicki recorded wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles.
The other two doubles victories came from junior Megan Langston and senior Ashley Johnson against ACU, and senior Melissa Bass and junior Kama Scott against North Central.
SFA struggled in singles against Abilene Christian, as ACU went on to win all six singles matches. The Ladyjacks picked up two singles wins against NCC, as Langston defeated North Central's Heather Fuller, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 4 singles and Bass recorded a 7-5, 6-4, singles win against Claire Papp at No. 6 singles.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday Mar. 1, when they travel to Lake Charles, La., to take on McNeese State. The match against the Cowgirls is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
