
SFA Volleyball Sweeps Louisiana-Monroe

MONROE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team improved its win streak to 12 consecutive Tuesday night defeating Louisiana-Monroe, 3-0 (30-25, 30-19, 30-22), in Monroe. The Ladyjacks are now 20-5 (.800) overall and 12-3 (.800) in the Southland Conference.
SFA used a dominant offense to put away the Lady Indians, recording a .388 attack percentage. Senior Brittany Burton recorded a match-high 18 kills (.571 attack percentage) to lead SFA. Junior Lauren Stevens added nine kills (.444 attack percentage), as the Ladyjacks had no problem dispensing Louisiana-Monroe.
SFA also put up a solid defensive performance recording 17 blocks to hold the Lady Indians to an .087 attack percentage. Sophomore Laura Cramer recorded a match-high five blocks while, Burton and junior Amelia Mayeaux added four blocks.
The Ladyjacks were dominant serving the ball again Tuesday night recording 11 service aces.
The Ladyjacks return to action Friday when they return home to face Texas-Arlington. The match against the Lady Mavs is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
