
Ladyjacks Exact Revenge on Nicholls State

THIBODAUX, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team continued to roll Friday night defeating Nicholls State, 3-1 (30-25, 30-23, 21-30, 30-20). The Ladyjacks are now 16-5 (.762) on the season and 8-3 (.727) in Southland Conference play.
Despite being out hit in the match, the Ladyjacks jumped out to a two-game lead heading into the intermission. Senior Brittany Burton led the way with 13 kills and four blocks, while freshman Traci Rohde added 10 kills. Classmate Jami Hill also had a big night with her 13 kills (.333 attack percentage) and 13 digs.
Nicholls State got on the scoreboard in game four winning, 30-21, behind Atina Porter and Brenda Ross' 18 kills. But the Ladyjacks didn't allow NSU to get any closer as they took the final game 30-20.
Freshman JJ Jones led SFA with 42 assists, while sophomore Stephanie Figgers recorded a team-high 15 digs.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday afternoon when they travel to Hammond, La., to take on Southeastern Louisiana. The match against the Lady Lions is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
