THIBODAUX, La. - Despite being out hit, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team escaped Stopher Gym with a 3-1 (30-23, 30-26, 25-30, 30-26) victory over Nicholls State Friday night. The Ladyjacks are now 14-12 on the season and 10-5 in the Southland Conference.
The Ladyjacks jumped out to 2-0 lead over the Lady Colonels behind junior Brittany Burton's team-high 19 kills and five blocks. Sophomore Lauren Stevens added 16 kills. Junior Deborah Kirkham recorded 15 kills and added seven digs.
