NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team finished Sunday's game against Southeastern Louisiana in a 3-3 tie. The Ladyjacks are now 11-3-2 on the season and 7-1-1 in Southland Conference play.
After Southeastern Louisiana scored the game's first goal in the 12th minute of action, SFA went on the attack. Freshman Alicia Reese tied the game when she scored a goal on a pass from junior Christie Mestayer. The Ladyjacks took their first lead of the game when freshman Shahin Pabani scored an unassisted goal at 40:20 of the first half. The Ladyjacks went into the intermission leading, 2-1.
SFA looked to be rolling to the victory over the league-leading Lady Lions when sophomore Kim Gray netted her fourth goal of the season in the 67th minute. But the lead didn't hold as Southeastern Louisiana rallied for two goals late in the game. Neither team was able to score in 20 minutes of overtime as the Ladyjacks recorded their second tie of the season.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Friday when they travel to San Marcos, Texas to take on Texas State. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
