
'Jacks Drop Opener 81-55 To 3rd Ranked Texas

Percy Green led the Lumberjacks with 14 points as the 'Jacks fell to the University of Texas, 81-55 Saturday night in Austin. The 'Jacks (0-1) never led in the game, but stayed with the nation's third ranked team for much of the first half before falling behind in the second half.
Percy Green finished the night with 14 points on a 6-13 shooting night. The Oklahoma City senior was one of only two Lumberjacks to end the night in double figures. Junior Antonio Burks added 10 points in the losing effort.
Texas held the'Jacks to only .314 from the floor (16-51), and only .125 from beyond the three point stripe (2-16) in handing SFA the loss. Brandon Mouton led Texas with 18 points, connectin on seven of 13 field goal attempts in the game.
UT dominated the boards, outrebounding SFA by a 52-33 margin. The Longhorns scored 29 second chance points to the 'Jacks 11, and outscored the 'Jacks by a 13-2 marginon fast break points.
Burks also added six rebounds for the Lumberjacks to lead SFA on the glass.
The Lumberjacks opens the home portion of their schedule Tuesday night as the host LeTourneau ina 7:00 p.m. tip.
