Danny Kaspar played 11 different players at least 11 minutes each in a 101-50 win over LeTourneau Tuesday night before a home opening crowd of 1,123. F Percy Green led the 'Jacks with 19 points on a 9 of 11 shooting night. Green also added two rebounds and two assists.
Antonio Burks and Stevin Ozier also finished the night in double figure scoring with Burks adding 18 points on 9-10 shooting, while Ozier had 10 points while connecting on five of seven shots from the field.
Overall, SFA shot .772 from the floor, making 44 of 57 field goal attempts. The 'Jacks dominated play inside, outscoring the 'Jackets 56-18 in the paint. SFA also got out on a few fast break chances, outscoring the visitors by a 14-4 margin on fast break points.
Defensively, SFA held LeTourneau to only .339 from the field (19-56), and outrebounded the Yellowjackets 33-22. Anthony Craig led LeTourneau with 17 points, nine of which came in the opening minutes of play as he connected on three straight three pointers.
Ozier led the 'Jacks on the glass with seven rebounds, while Burks and Dedrick Sanders added six each.
The 101 points in a game marked the first time since the 1995-96 season that SFA has gone over the century mark. The 'Jacks handed Schreiner a 138-69 loss early in the 1995 season.
SFA takes two days off for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to the floor for practice Friday. SFA next takes the court on Dec. 3, when they play host to Centenary.
