Ladyjacks Pick Up Win at UTSA

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team rebounded from its loss at San Marcos, to defeat Texas-San Antonio Saturday afternoon, 3-0 (30-12, 30-19, 30-22). The Ladyjacks are now 13-9 overall and 7-4 in the Southland Conference.
The Ladyjacks rolled through game one winning 30-12. Seniors Angie Wood (Houston, Texas) and Jennifer Wilson (Friendswood, Texas) led the way with their match-high 12 kills. Classmate Sunni Williams (Houston, Texas) added four (.667 attack percentage) kills, 34 assists four digs and four total blocks as the Ladyjacks won game two, 30-19.
UTSA tried to battle back behind Roxann Calderon's 11 kills, but the Roadrunners were victimized by pour offense, recorded a .053 attack percentage. SFA finished the match with a .306 attack percentage. The Ladyjacks also recorded 12 blocks.
SFA returns to action Tuesday against Sam Houston State. The match is slated to get underway at 7 p.m., from the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
