THIBODAUX, La.- Stephen F. Austin defeated Nicholls 3-0 (29-27, 25-11, 25-12) on Saturday. The Ladyjacks hit .309 with 39 kills and 12 blocks while holding the Colonels to a .018 hitting percentage. The team's hitting percentage of .309 was above its season average of .22. The 12 blocks recorded in the match was the second-highest amount recorded in a match and the fourth match with double-digit blocks this season.

The opening set was tied at 8-8 before the Colonels used SFA errors to move ahead 14-10. The Ladyjacks erased that gap with a 4-0 stretch that included an Avery Koonsen kill, a Kyanna Creecy block, and a Creecy-Koonsen block to tie it at 14-14, then moved in front 17-16 after consecutive Colonels attack errors. The teams stayed close late, with SFA going up 24-22 on a Creecy kill before the Colonels tied it at 24-24 and later took a 26-25 lead on an SFA attack error. Katherine Holtman tied the set at 26-26, Jordan Henderson's block put the Ladyjacks back ahead, and after the Colonels evened it once more, an Arrington service error and Molly Cravens' kill from Madi Zorn closed a 29-27 set win.

SFA built an early cushion in the second set, getting kills from Caroline Kahle, Cravens and Holtman and block assists from Koonsen and Henderson on two Colonels errors to move ahead 6-2. The Colonels cut it to 9-7, but the Ladyjacks answered with a Kahle kill, a Henderson-Cravens block, and a Colonels bad set to go up 13-7 before later pushing the lead to 18-9 on a Cravens kill. After Harper Holden's kill made it 19-11, SFA finished the set with six straight points, as Koonsen had a kill to regain serve and then served the final five points with two kills apiece by Holtman and Kahle around Koonsen's ace to close the 25-11 set.

Zorn served SFA through a 7-0 start to the third set, with Cravens, Koonsen and Henderson recording kills and Zorn adding a service ace. After the Colonels got on the board, Kahle's kill and two Colonels attack errors pushed the Ladyjacks to 10-1, and Cambry Saul later served two aces during a four-point stretch that made it 15-2. The Colonels picked up points through the middle of the set, but SFA kept answering with kills from Creecy, Holtman and Kahle to stay ahead 19-9. Haley Peterson and Koonsen combined on a block for 22-11, and Peterson added a kill for 23-11. Peterson's block was her first career solo block.
