Bearcats Outlast SFA Ladyjack win streak ends at six
HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team's six match win streak was ended Friday night by Sam Houston State, 3-2. The Ladyjacks record drops to 9-4 and 3-1 in the Southland Conference.
Senior Kristy Rhodes (Cypress, Texas) was the Ladyjacks go-to player as she recorded 20 kills while hitting .354. She also recorded 14 digs and five total blocks. Junior setter Sunni Williams (Houston, Texas) led the Ladyjacks with 30 assists.
The Ladyjacks played solid defense recording 14 total blocks and 94 digs but that was not enough to stop the Bearkats Carrie Sartain who recorded 28 kills. The bearkats ended the match with five players recording double-digit kills.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Saturday to take on Texas-Arlington. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., from Texas Hall.
