
Froboese Named Utility Player Of The Year In The SLC

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Katy senior Angela Froboese has been named the Southland Conference Utility Player of the Year in a vote of the Southland Conference head softball coaches. Froboese led the Ladyjack softball team in batting average this season, hitting .383 for the year.
Froboese appeared in all 53 games for the Ladyjack softball team, playing at both first base and at catcher. The left handed hitting senior also earned Second Team All-SLC honors for her play this season. Froboese recorded only three strikeouts in 175 at-bats this season, and struck out only ten times in 603 career at-bats at SFA.
Freshman designated hitter Kym Kling also was named to the Second Team All-Southland Conference team after finishing second on the team with a .322 batting average for the season. Kling appeared in 45 games, driving in 22 runs in 118 at-bats. Kling also went 4-8 on the mound this season for SFA.
Third baseman Ashley Moffett earned Honorable Mention honors this year as a junior, following a sophomore year in which she led the league in hitting. Moffett slipped to a .264 batting average this season, but was fourth on the team with 17 RBIs.
