Ladyjack Softball Sweeps Texas Southern, 7-1, 10-2

The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks used their home opener Tuesday evening to even their season record at 7-7 with a doubleheader sweep of Texas Southern by scores of 7-1 and 10-2.
Devin Cobb (3-2) and Kim Klyng combined in the first game to hold Texas Southern to just one run on four hits in seven innings of work. Cobb started and went five strong innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out three. Klyng came in in the fifth inning and did not give up a run and gave up only one hit over the final two innings.
Angela Froboese came up with the big hit for the Ladyjacks in the opener as her bases loaded triple helped the Ladyjacks explode in a seven run fourth inning. Shannon Mori also had two RBIs on a one for three night.
In the second game of the twin bill, SFA starter Morgan Tolleson (4-2) allowed two runs in the first inning before settling down and shutting out Texas Southern over the next four innings. The Ladyjacks came right back in the bottom of the first with three runs of their own to re-take the lead and added three more in the second. SFA closed out the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with three runs to go up 10-2.
Ashley Moffett was 3-3 in the second game of the doubleheader with two RBIs and a run scored. The Ladyjacks had ten hits in the game.
