Ladyjack Volleyball Sweeps Nicholls State

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack volleyball team defeated Nicholls State in three games tonight 15-1, 15-2, 15-3. The Ladyjacks are now 12-9 overall and 8-4 in Southland Conference play.
Four Ladyjacks hit .460 and higher for the night. Those Ladyjacks included Kelly Gorychka (.700), Kristy Rhodes (.632), Julie Goodson (.600) and Jenny Orndorff (.462). Freshman, outside hitter Kelly Gorychka led the Ladyjacks as she hit .700 for the night. Gorychka had seven kills, 10 total attempts and no errors for the night. Middle Blocker Kristy Rhodes had 12 kills, 19 total attempts and no errors.
Freshman, middle blocker Julie Goodson helped the Ladyjacks to a quick victory in the third game by serving 10 points consecutively. Goodson had four service aces for the night. Three of those service aces were served during the third game.
Senior, outside hitter Jenny Orndorff led her team in digs with 12 overall. Orndorff has been leading her team throughout the season with 228 digs.
The Ladyjacks will be back in action Saturday, October 21, at 4:00 PM in William R. Johnson Coliseum as they host Southeastern Louisiana.
