During the ‘22 season, Glass’ javelin throwers, Seri Geisler and Cord Neal, had exceptional senior seasons. Seri broke the school record in her first meet, won the WAC Championship, and qualified for the US Championships, taking 5th in the event. Cord Neal capped off a career with SFA Track and Field that included breaking his own school record and making his second trip to Eugene for the NCAA Championships where he placed 13th. In all, SFA thrower brought home 5 Conference medals (Geisler 1, Neal 1, Jayla Hooper x 3)
In Glass’s first year with the Jacks, he coached Trenton Bridges to a Southland Championship in the Hammer throw. He also sent three individuals to the preliminary round of the NCAA Championships with two, Izac Canchola and Cord Neal, qualifying for the final round at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The Glass led throwers including Bridges, Neal, Kevin Steward, and Bellodgia Roberson x 2 tallied a total of 5 Southland conference podium finishes on the year, helping the Jacks to three team titles on the season. The highlight however, came as Cord Neal qualified for the US Olympic trials in the javelin throw.
Prior to SFA, Glass coached the Spartans of University of South Carolina-Upstate. During his four seasons at Upstate he coached Kalyn Brown to a school record in the weight throw and Tony Auguste to a Conference title in the Hammer throw as a sophomore, this throw by Auguste broke the Haitian national record.
Glass got his start coaching the thrower at Briar Cliff University where in five years his athletes qualified for National Championships 15 times, broke 9 school records, and took home 4 All-American awards.
As an athlete, Glass threw multiple events at Southeast Missouri State University, winning a conference title in the outdoor Shot Put and capturing six podium finishes on his way to helping his team capture 2 OVC team Championships.
Andy Glass and his wife Kristi reside in Nacogdoches reside in Nacogdoches with their two dogs, Yadi and Chaos.
