SFA held to just one hit as (RV) Texas State invokes run-rule in 10-0 win
SAN MARCOS, Texas – (RV) Texas State held Stephen F. Austin to a single hit and combined for eight runs over the third, fourth and fifth innings to invoke the run-rule in Wednesday's non-conference action from the newly-named Irvine-Rasmussen Ballpark. The loss moves SFA to 18-16 overall.
Julian Swift accounted for the lone base knock for the Jacks as his one-out single in the fourth extended his team-leading hit streak to nine games. SFA did draw four walks with Mark Henning accounting for half to see his reached safely streak grow to 14 games.
The other two free passes, along with the lone HBP issued by the Bobcats, occurred in the seventh as the Jacks loaded the bases attempting to extend the contest.
