Ibe Named SLC Hitter of the Week

Big four-game week at plate earns senior second SLC weekly honor of career
FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin senior infielder Josh Ibe has been named the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week per the league's announcement on Monday afternoon, April 6. It is the second weekly SLC honor for the Cypress, Texas native in his SFA career and he is the first Lumberjack this spring to earn the league's weekly plaudit.
Ibe swung a hot and powerful bat over four games this past week. The Jacks went 3-1 earning a midweek victory over Prairie View A&M at home and picking up an SLC series win at Texas A&M-CC. In those four games, Ibe hit .438 with seven hits of which five went for extra bases. He delivered three doubles, a pair of home runs and totaled 16 bases. Ibe drove in a team-leading nine runs and tied for the team lead in runs scored with six.
