Swift’s fourth inning homer lone run for SFA; Jacks fan 10 NSU batters
NATCHITOCHES, La. – Four Stephen F. Austin pitchers combined to limit Northwestern State to two runs on seven hits, but the final base knock of the afternoon for the host Demons walked off the visiting Jacks 2-1 as NSU claimed the Southland Conference series on Saturday.
Julian Swift accounted for the lone SFA run with a fourth-inning homer, which the Demons answered in the home half of the same frame as Ethan Menard doubled in the tying tally with two outs.
Gabe LeBlanc tossed 4.2 innings allowing a single run on four hits with five strikeouts. Elian Balmaceda worked 3.1 innings in relief surrendering just one hit and a walk with four punchouts. Seanan Farney and Nate Vidlak each recorded an out. Farney suffered the loss.
NSU's Dylan Marionneaux went 8.1 innings with eight strikeouts and allowed just four hits as Mark Henning, Juan Cantua and Rodric Black joined Swift in the hit column.
