Henning hits solo shot in ninth for lone offense on Sunday
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Mark Henning hammered a two-out pitch out to right centerfield in the bottom of the ninth inning for Stephen F. Austin's first run of the afternoon, but the rally ended there as Tarleton State won 3-1 over SFA to sweep the series. The Jacks fall to 13-12, while the Texans move to 16-7.
The Jacks managed five hits against five Tarleton State arms. SFA got close to run support in the fifth as Juan Cantua singled to lead off the frame and then moved to second via sacrifice bunt from Rodric Black and to third on a balk, but was then left stranded.
Dylan Mulcahy went 5.0 innings, scattering five hits and a walk, while allowing two earned runs. He fanned six and did not surrender an extra base hit. Jonathan Valdez, Kadin Munson and Brennan Greer each tossed 1.1 innings in relief. Munson and Greer each
Tarleton's offense produced single runs, all off of two-out singles, in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
POSTGAME NOTES
