Jacks Enter Postseason as College Insider Top 10 Squad for Third-Straight Week

SLC Champs carry top seed to Lake Charles in hunt for NCAA Tournament AQ
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin men's basketball is among the nation's top mid-major programs with CollegeInsider.com's latest top 25 ranking holding the Jacks at No. 10 nationally for the third-straight week. SFA received 503 total points. The Jacks finished the regular season at 27-4 with a league record 20 wins to claim the outright Southland Conference title.

The Jacks' lone ranked opponent in the poll is fellow Southland Conference foe McNeese ranked at No. 11. The Cowboys rallied to beat the Lumberjacks 66-64 on January 5 in Lake Charles to hand SFA its first league loss, while keeping a lengthy home winning streak intact. The Jacks repaid the favor in Nacogdoches on February 2 with a 67-60 win. Additionally, SFA earned an exhibition overtime win over Sam Houston State which received 58 points in the March 2 release and would be ranked No. 27 nationally if the poll extended out.
As of games played through March 3, the Jacks rank 88th in the KenPom.com ratings and are inside the Division I Top 75 in NCAA NET rankings at No. 85. Both of those inclusions are currently the second-highest nods for a Southland program as the Jacks trail McNeese (No. 69 KP, No. 60 NET). Of the advanced metrics, the Jacks hold a No. 78 rating in adjusted defensive efficiency.
The Jacks open postseason play on Tuesday, March 10 as the top seed in the Southland Conference Tournament from Lake Charles' Townsley Law Arena. SFA receives a double bye into the tournament semifinals and will match up against the winner of the tournament's No. 4 seed and the Game 1 winner (No. 5 vs. No. 8).
