
Ladyjacks Soar Past Cardinals

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program traveled to San Antonio for their first of three road games.
SFA jumped out to an 11-6 lead thanks to two three-pointers from Harmanie Dominguez and Ashlyn Traylor-Walker. UIW cut the deficit to one with 4:17 left in the first quarter. The Ladyjacks responded with a 7-2 run to finished out the first quarter and go into the break with a six-point lead, 20-14.
The Cardinals started the second quarter on a 5-0 run, but the Ladyjacks quickly responded with an 11-0 spurt capped off by a three from Key Roseby, 31-19 with 6:25 left. Both teams traded blows until SFA went on a 7-4 run to finish out the first half. SFA went into the locker room with a 10-point lead, 45-35.
SFA kept their foot on gas by starting the third quarter on a 10-5 spurt to grow their lead to 15-points thanks to a five-point run from Traylor-Walker, 55-40 with 7:11 left. Both teams traded baskets, but the Ladyjacks were able to hold a comfortable double-digit lead for the rest of the quarter. SFA finished the third on a 6-0 run to take a 70-54 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Ladyjacks began the fourth quarter on a 9-2 spurt to take a 79-56 lead with 4:41 left in the game. Both teams traded baskets until the Cardinals went on a quick 7-2 run to cut the lead to 20. Dominguez's four-point play secured a 22-point victory for SFA, 93-71.
