Ladyjacks Dismantle Huskies to Win Seventh-Straight Game

Four Ladyjacks record double figures, led by Key Roseby’s 21.
HOUSTON, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball program continued their road trip to the HCU Huskies.
Both offenses struggled to get going in the first quarter until a minute left in the quarter where SFA rattled off a 9-0 run to take an 18-9 lead into the first quarter break.
The Huskies began the second quarter on a 7-0 spurt to cut the deficit to two, 18-16 with 6:56 left in the second. SFA responded with a dominant 14-0 run over the next three minutes to take a commanding 32-16 lead with 3:15 left in the first half. After HCU made two free throws, SFA went back on a 7-0 run that was capped off by a three-pointer from Harmanie Dominguez, 39-18 with 1:50 left in the first half. The Ladyjacks went into the locker room at halftime with a 44-20 lead.
Both teams traded baskets the entire third quarter as both teams made five baskets and SFA maintained a comfortable 22-to-26-point lead. Entering the fourth quarter, SFA held a 53-30 lead.
Key Roseby scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to extend the Ladyjack lead to 27-points, 57-30 with 9:21 left in the game. SFA grew their lead to 31-points after Dominguez made another three with 6:18 left in the game. Lydia Cajuste and Dominguez combined for SFA's last seven points as the Ladyjacks cruised to a dominant 71-47 victory.
POSTGAME NOTES
• The Ladyjacks sweep the season series against HCU and win their seventh-straight game.
• Key Roseby led the team with her fourth 20+ point game this season with 21 points.
• Harmanie Dominguez scored 13 points, with three three-pointers which tied the team lead with Roseby.
• Lydia Cajuste and Ashlyn Traylor-Walker each scored 11 points.
• Traylor-Walker led the team with seven rebounds followed by five from Roseby and Dominguez.
• Dominguez led the team with six assists, which ties her season and career high.
