Softball Set for Midweek Matchup with Former WAC Foe UT-Arlington

Winners of six of their last seven games, the Jacks host the 6-8 Mavs Tuesday night.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team returned from San Antonio as Roadrunner Classic Champions and are set to host UT-Arlington for their second home game of the season.
LAST TIME OUT
• SFA wins the Roadrunner Classic Championship and are the only team to have beaten every team in the tournament.
• Jamie Varga led the SFA offense going 2-2, with one run, four RBIs, and drew two walks.
• Gianna Lewis scored two runs and drew two walks.
• Jordyn Ages pitched six innings, allowed five hits, two runs and struck out three batters to pick up her second win of the season.

SCOUTING UT-ARLINGTON
• UTA comes to Nacogdoches with a 6-8 record. Last weekend they went 2-3 at their home tournament where they hosted Wichita State, Creighton and South Dakota.
• Marley Neises leads the team with a .372 batting average, 16 hits, and 18 RBIs.
• Dee McClarity leads the Mavs with four doubles and Kelsey Creech leads the team with two triples.
• In the circle, Kynlee Bowlin leads UTA with a 4.96 ERA and two complete games.
• Madi McDonnell leads the Mavs with four wins and eight strikeouts.
BOMBS AWAY
• The Jacks have hit 12 homeruns this season.
• Ella Hill leads the team with four, three of which she hit during the first day of the Roadrunner Classic.
• Malia Jones follows with three homeruns, Kara Pride and Adelyn Becerra each have two while Lilly Bean has one.

• Freshman Kai Hudson is currently tied for the nationally lead with a 0.00 ERA this season.
• She has appeared in four games and started in two while pitching 18.2 innings and striking out four batters.
• Hudson earned her first complete game shutout in the win over UMass Lowell that secured a Roadrunner Classic Championship for the Jacks.
