THE RECENT SERIES
--- The Jacks and the Golden Lions meet for the fifth-straight season and for a second-straight February weekend. SFA has won nine straight against UAPB including taking all four games from the Golden Lions last season. Overall, the Jacks hold a 12-2 record against UAPB in a series that was first contested in 2011.

2026 Season Statistics
--- The Golden Lions split with Lindenwood to open the 2026 season.
--- UAPB plated 11 runs highlighted by an eight-run output, behind a dozen hits, in game two of the series.
--- Joe Adams, Blake Coleman and Zach Wieder all collected four hits last weekend.
--- UAPB struck out 41 Lindenwood batters and issued a dozen walks in 36.0 innings.
NO-NO! NO, NO, NO! NO!
--- Six Lumberjack arms combined to toss 9.0 innings of hitless baseball on Tuesday in SFA's 8-0 win over Huston Tillotson. The Jacks tossed the ball to Seanan Farney who went 3.0 innings in a starting role allowing just two free passes with five strikeouts as he faced two over the minimum before giving way to five relievers, the first of which was Gage Elliott (W, 1-0) who went 2.0 innings with two punchouts to earn the victory. Jack James, Kadin Munson, Nate Bergeron and Ayden Terry all tossed a frame with James and Terry facing the minimum. Ethan Adkisson caught all six arms which totaled 11 punchouts and relied on a defense that recorded seven flyouts and seven groundouts with Bergeron receiving a 4-6-3 double play to end the eighth.
--- The effort is the first combined nine-inning no-hitter in program history.
BEST START… EVER.
--- SFA's 5-0 start to the season marks just the second time in program history, and the first since 2010, that the Jacks have won their first four games of a campaign. A win over the visiting Rams on Tuesday would give SFA its best start in the program's Division I history.
--- The Jacks are one of 39 teams still unbeaten in Division I baseball as the second weekend of the season looms.
RUNS, RUNS, RUNS
--- The Jacks pushed across double-digit runs in each of the four games against the Delta Devils. SFA's 17 runs in the season opener are the second-most by the Jacks in any game under Vanderburg and the Jacks have 14 games with 10+ runs in his tenure.
--- SFA's 56 runs over opening weekend were the fourth-most in the country, while its 64 total runs through five games are the seventh most in DI, while the per-game average of 12.8 currently rates 12thnationally.
--- SFA has plated 8+ runs in each of its five games this season; the longest streak since scoring 8+ runs in a four-game sweep of UIW (4/1-3) and a midweek win over Grambling (4/6) in 2021.

--- Bland and Swift each have nine hits this season and the two have combined to score 15 runs paced by Bland's team-best eight.
--- Ethan Peña leads the team in RBI with ten behind three multi-RBI games.

--- The Jacks have stolen 22 bases in two dozen attempts so far this season.

--- The Jacks enjoyed a handful of strong starts over the weekend. Cody Templeton won for the seventh time as a Lumberjack scattering six hits and run, while striking out eight batters in the season opener. Nate Vidlak capped the series with a perfect four innings of work with seven strikeouts in combining for a shutout in the finale. Gabe LeBlanc allowed just one hit with four Ks in four innings of action as the game three starter.
GAME ONE, GAME WON.
--- SFA's 17-2 (7) win over Mississippi Valley State was the Jacks' first win in a season opener since knocking off Northwestern State in the first game of the 2022 campaign.
