Jacks Move into Top 10 of CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Rankings

SFA ranked 10th nationally in latest polling as stretch run for regular season title begins
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - For the sixth-consecutive week, and for the 13th time this season, Stephen F. Austin men's basketball is among the nation's top mid-major programs with CollegeInsider.com's latest top 25 ranking pushing the Jacks to a season-high No. 10 nationally; up a single spot from the February 9 ranking. SFA received 468 total points. The Jacks have won 12 straight games and are leading the Southland Conference at 17-1, a two-game lead with four games to go.

The Jacks' lone ranked opponent in the poll is fellow Southland Conference foe McNeese ranked at No. 14. The Cowboys rallied to beat the Lumberjacks 66-64 on January 5 in Lake Charles to hand SFA its first league loss, while keeping a lengthy home winning streak intact. The Jacks repaid the favor in Nacogdoches on February 2 with a 67-60 win. Additionally, SFA earned an exhibition overtime win over Sam Houston State which received 18 points in the February 16 release.
As of games played through February 16, the Jacks rank 82nd in the KenPom.com ratings and are inside the Division I Top 75 in NCAA NET rankings at No. 44. Both of those inclusions are currently the second-highest nods for a Southland program as the Jacks trail McNeese (No. 62 KP, No. 57 NET). Of the advanced metrics, the Jacks hold a No. 59 rating in adjusted defensive efficiency. Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology release (2/17) has the Jacks as the No. 12 seed in the Washington D.C. region matching up with No. 5 St. John's.
The Jacks return to the Sawmill for the final two home games of the regular season and will put an unbeaten 14-0 record on the line. SFA welcomes in Nicholls on Saturday, February 21 and plays host to New Orleans on Monday, February 23. Tickets are available at www.SFAjacks.com/MBBtickets.
