Thompson Earns Third SLC Player of the Week Honor

Senior guard leads Jacks to pair of road wins behind back-to-back 20-point efforts
FRISCO, Texas - For the third time during the 2025-26 season, Stephen F. Austin senior guard Keon Thompson has been named the Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Thompson adds the January 26 honor to awards garnered on November 10 and Decemeber 8.
A native of Merrillville, Indiana, Thompson led the Jacks to road wins over Nicholls and Lamar behind a pair of 20-point scoring outputs. The wins were the seventh and eighth road victories of the season which are the most by the program since winning a dozen on the road in 2019-20.
Thompson averaged 23 points per game which included his third scoring performance with 26 or more points in the win over the Cardinals. He shot 64.3% from the floor highlighted by an 80% clip in 10 attempts against the Colonels. Thompson averaged 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
