SFA Heads to Natchitoches for Opening SLC Road Test

'Jacks play Demons in early SLC match for first place.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer travels to Northwestern State for the Battle of the Sabine on Sunday, September 21, at 1:00 P.M.
The 'Jacks lead in a one-sided series, posting 23 wins, eight losses, and five draws. The Lumberjacks saw the Demons twice last year, once in a late-season match, when SFA capped off a 5-0 victory to claim the 2025 SLC Regular Season Championship. Later that season, SFA fended off NSU in a 1-0 overtime match to advance to the SLC Conference Championship. The Lumberjacks have outscored the Demons 76-11 in the series, and have 11 wins and only three losses when playing at NSU.
NSU resides at 5-2-2 with a 1-0 SLC record. The Demons are coming off a 2-0 victory at UTRGV this past Thursday. Junior keeper, Kennedy Rist, posted four shutouts on the year and was awarded two SLC player of the week this season. Emily Senatore and Hosane Soukou have scored five goals each this year and have each accumulated 11 points. The Demons have scored 19 goals; meanwhile, they have only conceded seven this season.
SFA is coming off a dominant 4-0 victory to McNeese this previous Thursday. Sierra McCluer has recorded five shutouts on the year and has also been awarded an SLC keeper of the week award just two weeks ago. The 'Jacks shared the points around, as seven Lumberjacks recorded at least one point against McNeese. Five Lumberjacks, Alexis Miller, Brielle Buchanan, Logan Heausler, Taylor Dodson, and Sydney Williams, each have two goals this season, with SFA scoring 19 goals and compiling 39 points this year.
