Three Lumberjacks Named to All-Southland Second Team

FRISCO, Texas- Three Lumberjacks were named to the All-Southland Second Team, the conference announced Wednesday morning.
Adelyn Becerra represented the catchers on second team and has made her presence felt at the plate in her first season with the Lumberjacks as she has brought the pop to the SFA offense this season. Becerra leads the team with eight home runs this season, and sports a team-leading .580 slugging percentage. Becerra has crushed 13 extra-base hits this season, and has recorded multiple hits in seven games this season. Becerra's statement game at the plate came against the HCU Huskies on March 30th as she went 3-3 at the plate with a double, two homeruns, three runs, and four RBIs to help power SFA to a 9-1 home win over the Huskies.
Ellie Vance represented second base on the second team has started all 53 games for SFA at second base and has been a nightmare for opposing pitchers as she has struck out just five times in 182 at-bats this year (the 12th hardest batter to strikeout nationally), and owns a .368 batting average, leads the team with 67 hits, and has added on three doubles, one triple, 22 RBIs, 23 runs scored, seven walks, and has swiped a team-leading 20 stolen bases. Ellie has recorded 21 multi-hit games this year as her 67 hits this season are the most by any player in the Southland and ranks her 11th in the nation in total hits this year.
Kyi'Marri Ester earned a spot on the second team as the designated player and has been a driving force behind the SFA offense resurgence this season as her 30 RBIs have her leading the team, while she has added on six doubles, a triple, and a pair of homers to her 2025 stats. Ester has poured on the RBIs in bunches this season as she recorded a three-RBI performance against the ULM Warhawks, a four-RBI performance against Army West Point with her first career grand slam, and a five-RBI performance against Nicholls State. In total, Ester has seven games this season where she has recorded multiple RBIs in the game and has tallied six games with multiple hits.
