Lumberjacks Get Set for Battle of the Sabine Against Northwestern State

Due to anticipated rain, the weekend schedule has shifted to a Thursday doubleheader at 4 and 6:30 p.m. and a single game on Friday at noon.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team returned home for an unexpected quick turnaround for their series against the Northwestern State Demons.
SCHEDULE UPDATE
• Due to anticipated rain, we have moved our Saturday doubleheader to Thursday, April 2 at 4:00 and 6:30 p.m.
• Friday's single game has been moved up from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
• SFA dispatched of PVAMU in run-rule fashion with a 12-4 win.
• Three Lumberjacks recorded two hits led by a 2-2 day rom Malia Jones, then two hits from Adelyn Becerra and Lilly Bean.
• Bean led the team with two homeruns followed by one from Jones and Ella Hill.
• Jones and Bean tied for the team lead with three RBIs followed by two from Becerra.
• Crimson Bryant threw two hitless innings and struck out three batters.
• Jordyn Ages pitched four innings in relief and struck out four batters.
SCOUTING NSU
• The Lady Demons come into this weekend series with an 18-18 record and a 7-5 conference record. NSU defeated Louisiana Tech 2-1 in their Tuesday night matchup after scoring 39 runs in their sweep of ETAMU last weekend.
• Brynn Daniel leads the team in batting average (.348) and hits (32) and is second on the team with 21 RBIs.
• JT Smith leads the Lady Demons with four triples and 25 RBIs this season.
• Makynlie Jones leads the team with nine doubles and is third with 20 RBIs.
• NSU's 12 homeruns this season have been hit by seven different players.
• The NSU pitching staff boasts a 4.34 ERA with Mattison Buster leading the staff with a 2.95 ERA, which is the sixth lowest in the conference. Buster is tied for the conference lead in strikeouts with SFA's Crimson Bryant at 78.

• Ellie Vance is 20th in the nation with 53 hits and is the 33rd hardest batter in the nation to strikeout.
• Crimson Bryant is ranked 9th in shutouts with four and is tied for the conference lead. She is also 78th in the nation with 78 strikeouts.
• Amelia Hatthorn is ranked 56th nationally with a 2.12 ERA. She is also ranked 52nd in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 3.54.
