After Cermodrick Bland led off with a single and advanced to third on a steal and a groundout, Josh Ibe hit an RBI groundout, putting SFA on the board first. The Tigers responded, however, scoring three runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-1 lead.
The 'Jacks scratched away in the top of the second, as Owen Hooper hit an RBI single to score Julian Swift, cutting the lead to 3-2. Neither team scored until the top of the fourth, when SFA put up three more runs, courtesy of four walks and a hit by pitch, giving SFA a 5-3 lead. The Tigers answered right back in the bottom of the fourth, scoring two runs to tie the game at five.
In the top of the fifth, the Lumberjacks continued to pour it on, scoring four more runs off a base hit, three walks, and another hit by pitch, to open up a 9-5 lead. The next inning, the Lumberjacks extended their lead, as doubles by Kevin Duran and Owen Hooper and a single by Cermodrick Bland put another three runs on the board, making the score 12-5 in favor of SFA. The Tigers fought back in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs to cut the SFA lead to five.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Lumberjacks broke the game open, scoring another three runs on three hit by pitches, an error, and a wild pitch, extending their lead to 15-7. The Tigers would score another run in the eighth to cut the lead to 15-8, but the 'Jacks continued to pout it on in the bottom of the ninth. In the inning, RBI singles by Owen Hooper, Dylan Hummel, and Jackson Benattar helped SFA score five runs and put the game completely out of reach, as they led 20-8 heading into the ninth inning. The score would hold, as SFA won the contest, 20-8.
Hayden Tronson (2-5) earned the victory, while Taylor Dooley (1-2) took the loss.
