Ladyjacks Place Sixth at the SLC Championship

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks completed SLC tournament play this weekend, finishing sixth out of eight teams.
In round one, Shanna Sandoval led the way for SFA, as she shot a 75 (+3) and had three birdies on the round. Sydney Moss and Avree Fields were right behind her, shooting 77 (+5) and 78 (+6), respectively. Brooke Dishman shot an 80 (+8), but did tie Sandoval and Moss for the team lead with three birdies. Kinley Pessel rounded out play in round one for the 'Jacks, shooting an 86 (+14).
In round two, the Ladyjacks had a very solid day. This time, Fields led the way, as she shot a 74 (+2). Sandoval was right behind with a score of 75 (+3) to continue her strong tournament. Dishman and Pessel both improved on their first-round scores, both shooting 77 (+5). Finally, Moss rounded out the day with a respectable 78 (+6).
On the third day of competition, the Ladyjacks made a move, jumping two spots to the sixth spot. Pessel had the best day of any SFA golfer at the tournament, shooting 72 (E) with four birdies. She ended the day strong, as she recorded birdies on three of her last five holes. Fields and Moss also had great days, both shooting 74 (+2). Dishman shot a 76 (+4) but did make two birdies. Sandoval rounded the day out with a solid 78 (+6).
As a team, the Ladyjacks shot +45 across the three days. Avree Fields placed 13th overall, leading the Ladyjacks.
