
Jacks Wrap Up Play at Golfweek

PAWLEYS ISLAND, South Carolina -- The SFA golf team finished the Golfweek Fall Challenge at 101-over par, placing 22nd among 23 teams.
ROUND ONE
The Jacks opened the tournament with a combined score of 55-over par in the first round. Sophomore transfer Taylor Horacefield made her Lumberjack debut, sitting at even par through the first nine holes before finishing the day at 4-over par. Horacefield recorded back-to-back birdies, including one on the par-2 ninth hole. The Jacks combined for nine birdies on the day, with Paige Hill accounting for three.
ROUND TWO
The Jacks followed their opening round with a combined score of 316 (+32) in the second round. SFA improved by one stroke from its first-round total, with the team continuing to find birdie opportunities throughout the round. Paige Hill collected three birdies in the round, while Horacefield led the Jacks at 4-over par on the day. Marley Dickens had a strong front nine, making five straight birdies before finishing the round at 8-over par.
ROUND THREE
SFA closed out the Golfweek Fall Challenge with a combined score of 320 (+36) in the final round. The Jacks finished the three-round tournament at 101-over par with a total score of 953, placing 22nd in the 23-team field. SFA finished one spot ahead of Queens, which placed 23rd at 110-over par. Horacefield closed out the day at 5-over par, finishing the tournament with a team-best 13-over par and tying for 65th individually. SFA combined for eight birdies in the final round, with Hill and Lumberjack veteran Taryn Clayton accounting for five of them.

SFA looks ahead to the Lady Clerico Classic, hosted by Oral Roberts, in Bartlesville, Okla., Sept. 14-15.
