Lumberjacks Drop Series Opener to Cardinals

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin softball team (13-15) traveled to San Antonio for a conference series against the Incarnate Word Cardinals (14-11).
Alexis Telford earned the start in the circle for the 'Jacks. After a scoreless inning and a half, UIW got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning off an RBI single, 1-0. SFA was unable to mount a comeback as UIW held the 'Jacks to three hits in the first game of the series.
Top Players of the Game:
• Alexis Telford: 6.0 IP, four hits, one run, one strikeout
• Jamie Varga: 1-2
• Kaylee Paul: 1-2
SFA will finish their series against the UIW Cardinals tomorrow, Saturday, March 22nd with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
