
SFA Track and Field Head to Alabama for Southland Conference Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - The SFA Track and Field team will head to Birmingham, Alabama this weekend to compete in the Southland Conference Championships. The event starts on Sunday, March 2nd, and will wrap up on Monday, March 3rd.
Women's Preview
Head Coach Robert Hansen is eager to see his athletes compete, stating, "We have a well-rounded team, and we believe we can earn a good amount of points from all the event groups that encompass our team. Many of our athletes are sitting just outside of scoring position and are poised to step up and make some big jumps to put themselves into scoring position. The ladies have worked really hard, and our coaches have prepared them for this moment. If we have some fun and execute, we're going to be really pleased with the results,"

Coach Hansen is also very excited to watch his guys in their specific events. "This team is very potent." Said Hansen. "We have a nice combination of youth, experience, and leadership, which I believe will be the perfect storm for us to go for our goals. The men have been preparing with one focus for months and this is the culmination of that preparation. I trust our athletes can do their job and enjoy the moment while doing so."
