Following a 1-1 regular-season draw, SFA and Lamar meet again with a trip to the conference final on the line.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin women's soccer faces off against the No. 6 seed Cardinals of Lamar in the SLC Soccer semifinals. The 'Jacks and Cardinals are set for a 7:00 P.M. kickoff on Thursday, November 6, in Beaumont, Texas.

In the regular season, SFA and Lamar split the points in a 1-1 draw on October 5. This match is the first draw in series history, as the 'Jacks previously dominated the series, posting 16 wins.

The Cardinals defeated No. 3 seed SLU in the first round in a 2-1 victory. The Lady Lions outshot the Cardinals, 25-16. However, Lamar was able to pull away with goals from both Kamryn Harvey and Kaitlyn Niemeyer. The Cardinals are also coming off notable SLC All-Conference awards, most notably Lauren Smith being named SLC Newcomer of the Year and SLC Forward of the Year after leading the Southland in goals with 12.

The Lumberjacks were tested last match, playing 110 minutes, resulting in a 1-1 draw before heading into a shootout to decide the advancing team, where the Lumberjacks took the match with a 4-2 PK score. Taylor Dodson netted the only goal for SFA, now leading the 'Jacks in goals with six. SLC Goalkeeper of the Year Sierra McCluer continues her legacy through the playoffs, posting nine saves, allowing one goal, and creating a force in the net against the Islanders during penalty kicks.

The winner of this match advances to play in the SLC Soccer Championship at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 9, in Beaumont, Texas.
