Roseby paces four players in double figures as SFA improves to 3-0
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Myka Perry delivered a fantastic pass down inside to Cha Gardner who put a shot up off glass for a go-ahead bucket in the waning seconds of Stephen F. Austin's Friday night matchup with Abilene Christian. The winning sequence followed a second-chance bucket by the Wildcats with around 12 seconds remaining which gave the guests their first lead since the 7:02 mark of the second quarter. With the 77-76 victory, the Ladyjacks hand ACU its first loss of the season, while SFA improves to 3-0.
SFA led by as much as 13 points in the fourth quarter, before the Wildcats engineered an 18-6 run over 7:28 of play to pull within one point of the Ladyjacks' advantage.
ACU led after the opening ten minutes, but an 18-14 second quarter gave SFA a three-point advantage at the intermission. The Ladyjacks saw that lead grow to eight points entering the fourth quarter before Key Roseby hit a triple try and Perry cashed in on a fastbreak opportunity off an ACU turnover to push the lead to 13.
The Ladyjacks shot just 3-of-14 from beyond-the-arc in the first half but found a rhythm from deep in the final twenty minutes making seven attempts in two less tries than in the opening twenty.
